A FASCINATION WITH TINY THINGS

A TRAVELING EXHIBIT ABOUT THE PUBLIC’S CAPTIVATION WITH MICROSCOPY DURING THE NINETEENTH CENTURY

The website will showcase the author’s collection of science-related artifacts. My plan is for it to develop into a traveling exhibition for public enjoyment and education. Separate pages on the website will cover related topics. An inventory concludes each topic page that includes the size of each item and if it requires a display case or if it can be wall-hung.

The holdings in the collection determine the scope of the exhibition. This is an acceptable and expected limitation. What I do view with dread are not the gaps but the presentation of incorrect information. I dearly hope scholars will lookover my efforts and use the bulletin board to contribute information where I may have referenced misleading data or inaccurately interpreted what I did read. The website’s discussion board is where I  look forward to communicating with others with the experience and knowledge to help move this project to fruition. Without the benefit of networking with others, the project will not grow to sparkle as it deserves.

The first topic presents the work of Mary Ann Allard Booth. The section is near completion and could be exhibited on its own. The layout used for the page is how I expect to proceed in putting up more material. What is great about web pages is that they can be changed should one learn a better way.
